A SCOFF BEFORE she ( finally ) got up & took a seat like a regular human being. He could’ve swore she was doing this JUST TO GET UNDER HIS SKIN. It wasn’t so much an annoyance, but an urge he hadn’t explored in some time. He’d had many partners but it had been some time since his last partner and with a gorgeous woman like Carol Danvers here, in his home——TEASING HIM like she was——it was hard to keep focused while also being a hospitable host. He watched as she did her best to draw attention to her feminine assets, then gave an expression of bewilderment when she sarcastically asked her question. ❝ Since when do you, the great Captain Marvel, care what other people think? ❞ With that, he gave a wave of his hand and his cloak of levitation moved about and around his form until it fit snugly around his neck like an ascot while he moved to sit next to ( and closer than normal) her.
EYEBROW QUIRKS UP as she looked over her shoulder at him, in that stubborn manner of hers, she didn’t move an inch & remained sprawled on his futon. “ Did you not tell me to make myself comfortable ? ” Carol asked, staring him in the eye before the corner of her mouth turned up into a half-smirk.
❝ I, uh— ❞ He stammered, trying to find the words to continue on in spite of this. He couldn’t tell if she was intentionally teasing him or if it was some kind of game she was playing to see what his reaction would be. For now, though, he opted for the high road. ❝ I suppose that’s true. And not that I mind, but I didn’t expect you to take it so literally. But of course, Carol—mi casa es su casa. ❞
❝ You know bloody well what, Carol. ❞ He managed to stammer out after a couple of moments. His eyes had fell upon the colonel lounging in his home, inside of the Sanctum Sanctorum, clad in a form-fitting attire. It was a shock, nonetheless.
